The HLA Career Path offers a wide range of courses for students to explore career options, learn soft skills useful to every employment scenario, prepare for industry certification exams, and graduate from high school ready for entry level positions or post-secondary instruction in many fields. Many of these options include courses that will prepare the student for certification. The portfolio feature located in Applecore is a great place to record your student’s awards, achievements and any credentials he/she receives.
The Career Path offers a lot of flexibility. A student can customize a plan of study according to the student’s long-term goals. With goal-based planning, you choose which science, math, social studies and elective courses your student will need in order to be prepared for long-term goals. Students can select courses from a specific field of study to satisfy the elective requirements needed for graduation or take a sampling of courses from different fields. If your student is unsure what career his/she is most interested in a career assessment might be helpful.
