Kristin Carlton and her family “travel the world” during the Christmas holiday, from the comfort of their home. The season is full of great food and learning, which is something we would expect from a homeschooler.
It is only our second year doing this tradition, but we love it! We pick a country and learn about their Christmas traditions as well as where they are and other things… (sneaky learning, lol). On Christmas Eve, my parents come over and we go all out with the country’s traditions and food. Last year was Russia and we had help from a friend whose husband is Russian. This year, we are getting excited about Sweden! We don’t put much, if any, emphasis on Santa and most all on the actual Christmas story. So, this has been a fun way to learn about Christians in those countries too. ~ Kristin Carlton
