When David and I started HomeLife Academy in 2003, we were just a couple of young kids with little babies, *zero* practical homeschool experience, and a whole lot of faith that God would bless this idea He gave us. Since the beginning, I have done practically every job at HLA, from counseling to records secretary to finances, and everything in between, and did these jobs with either a baby in utero or nursing (and sometimes, both!).
Today, I dabble in many areas of administration – from helping out with the billing and approval teams, to helping International groups within HLA. But the part of my job I am most excited about is my position as Events Planner! I love, love, love planning all kinds of events! But mostly, I love that I can encourage and uplift our staff members so that they may, in turn, encourage and uplift our HLA families.
Through this journey, the Lord has blessed us in so many ways; not only with our 6 beautiful children, but also with our amazing staff that came along side of the two of us at just the right moment, and blessed HLA to really flourish and minister to families in a way that we could never imagine. David and I are continually blown away with how God has used HLA to bring families together. We give Him all the Glory because every good thing comes from Him, and not of our own strength.
