We are thrilled to be able to serve families outside the US who have a desire to homeschool their children. Thank you so much for allowing us to take this journey with you. You will be responsible for ensuring that you comply with all laws and regulations in your country. Registration with HomeLife Academy may or may not meet those requirements.
HLA offers international families, whether foreign nationals, military families, or missionaries, the same level of service as families living in the states. This comes with peace of mind knowing your family’s records are safe and always there for you, backed by the full support of our staff. Many military and missionary families enjoy that HLA provides them continuity of records no matter where they may end up next. And we provide the service, counseling, and documents that international families need to succeed while homeschooling abroad.
- Teacher/Student IDs
- Report Cards
- Official Transcripts
- Freedom & Flexibility
International families must sign our Acknowledgement of International Policy as part of the approval process. US citizens or military, in most cases, will be able to abide by the homeschooling laws in the US. However, fees such as shipping and legalization may still need to be paid, and therefore, these families still fall under our international policy.
International families often follow a calendar year school schedule. Regardless of your schooling schedule, you will still need to re-enroll annually by August 1. Please visit our Scheduling page for information on how to report grades for the calendar year or year-round schooling.
HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association) is a national organization that works to defend the rights of homeschoolers in the U.S. and internationally. Even if you are meeting all requirements for homeschooling, you can be faced with allegations, or your parental rights can be violated. Becoming a member is your way of helping other homeschooling families across the world defend their rights to homeschool.
HSLDA provides your very own legal counsel 24/7 and will fight on your behalf and behalf of homeschoolers everywhere. Protect yourself and support other homeschoolers for less than $10 per month. Join HSLDA Now if you haven’t already!
HLA’s International Policy
HomeLife Academy provides record-keeping, counseling services, issuance of transcripts, and diplomas upon credit completion according to HLA’s graduation guidelines as well as completing any other documentation needed to verify these documents such as legalization, apostilles, or otherwise.
It is your responsibility to check with your local or national governments as to whether they will accept any or all of these documents provided by HomeLife Academy as completion of education for purposes of furthering education or graduation from the high school level. HomeLife Academy will not be held liable or at fault for any laws or other issues resulting from information not provided by the parents to HLA or obtained by the parents for their understanding.
Please understand that being enrolled with HomeLife Academy does not exempt you from local or national laws that may prevent you from homeschooling and that HLA is not responsible for covering you legally, nor are they liable if you choose to homeschool where homeschooling is considered illegal.
All fees for shipping outside of the US will be the responsibility of the family, and that any documents that must be procured for legalization purposes and outside of the standard forms provided by HLA will be at an additional fee, and those costs will be the family’s responsibility.
It is your responsibility to obtain your student(s) records and have them forwarded to HomeLife Academy. HLA does not send international documents requests due to the delayed responses and shipping problems. We will send requests if you can provide an email address for the school.
