Curriculum Corner

Do you need a spelling curriculum that makes
the grade?
Read Julie’s comment
she shared regarding
All About Spelling.

“We love All About Spelling! Purchasing that curriculum was a breakthrough point for us, specifically my son who was struggling with spelling. As a “natural” speller, I struggled to know how to teach this confusing subject full of exceptions to a child who wanted rules! All About Spelling has a fun, hands on way to learn rules of spelling! His spelling and reading improved dramatically and so did my peace of mind that we were moving in the right direction! ~ Julie, mom of four in TN

Tell us your favorite curriculum.
Whether you have used it in
the past or are using it now,
sharing this information with
others is valuable. We will
highlight them in our
upcoming newsletters!
E-mail us about what
curriculum you love
and why you love it

August 1 deadline for homeschoolers
to play sports in public or private schools approaching…{read more}

Our administrative school year begins on
August 1. Please register by this date. If you live in Tennessee, Florida, Alabama or Colorado, you will need to be re-enrolled prior to the start date of the public schools in your area to assure you are in compliance with your local attendance requirements. These dates may not reflect your actual teaching schedule, and that’s OK, but please be aware we cannot provide a “covering” to families that are not actively enrolled.

There are certain requirements that will need to be met to complete your enrollment. You must register and have all reporting complete by August 1 to avoid additional registration fees. Please continue reading below for further details.

Here is what you need to know about your registration:

  • Once you register, your family status will remain “Pending…” until you have completed all requirements for re-enrollment including payment. Once all requirements are met, your registration will be completed and you will receive your Confirmation of Enrollment.
  • Student grade levels must be updated prior to your registration to properly calculate your registration fees.
  • Grades and attendance for the previous school year must be reported by August 1.
  • Your Education Plan for the 2015/2016 school year must be entered by August 1. This should be done by entering “In-Progress” courses with textbooks/resources in Applecore. Need help? Check out the “apple” on the left.
  • Please login to your account and click on the 2015/2016 school year link on the right and follow the instructions on that page.

You may begin and end your “teaching” year at any time, but we encourage you to think of education as ongoing. Keep in mind the annual processing fee is scheduled to increase after August 1.

Please remember you DO NOT have to meet all requirements to submit your registration application now. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of any outstanding requirements needed to complete your enrollment.

Again, thank you so much for allowing us to serve you and your family! We pray the Father of our hearts will be glorified in our families and in the upcoming school year.

Lend a helping hand and volunteer

The holiday season is not the only time you are able to volunteer; lend a helping hand to others. If you have not requested your diploma, your student has not officially graduated from HomeLife Academy. When you enter this request into the Request Manager, it lets us know to look at your account and make sure all required credits are fulfilled and the student is ready to graduate. If your student is still finishing coursework, it must be completed by September 15 or you will need to re-enroll the student for the 2015/2016 school year. Diploma requests must be completed before final transcripts can be mailed. If you have not completed or started this process, we encourage you to do so right away, so transcripts can be sent out quickly as needed. Be sure to include the graduation date of your student.
