Woodworking Class/Tutorial

Postby kmdmtnpa » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:56 am

We are a homeschool family living in Middle TN who would like to start a Woodworking Class for middle school and high school students. My husband is a carpenter of 26 yrs who would like to share his passion for wood with future generations. Does anyone have any legal input as to how to start a class as this and what kind of release waivers families would need to sign - in the case of an accident? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Tutorials are very popular. Home educators start tutorials for a variety of subjects all the time, both formally and informally; in their homes, in churches, and even in other schools. HLA is fine with classes such as these and encourages parents to start and join them. For a waiver or medical release form for woodworking I would check online or in MS Word for templates; or modify a field trip release form for your purposes. Hope this helps.
